Flora of Ranthambore National Park:

  1. Dry Deciduous Forests:

    • The park primarily features dry deciduous forests, characterized by trees that shed their leaves during the dry season. Common tree species include dhok, mango, pipal and banyan. 
  2. Dhok and Bamboo Forests:

    • Dhok trees dominate the landscape, forming thickets and providing shade. Bamboo patches are also found in certain areas.
  3. Anogeissus Pendula (Dhok):

    • Dhok trees are well-adapted to the arid environment of Ranthambore. Their twisted trunks and dense foliage provide excellent cover for wildlife.
  4. Grasslands:

    • Open grasslands are interspersed with tree clusters, providing grazing grounds for herbivores. 
  5. Water Bodies:

  2. Leopards:

    • Leopards are present in the park and are known for their elusive nature. They often inhabit the rocky outcrops and dense vegetation. 
  3. Indian Wild Boar:

    • Wild boars are common in Ranthambore and are a primary food source for big cats. 
  4. Sambar Deer:

    • The park is home to a significant population of sambar deer, one of the largest deer species. 
  5. Chital (Spotted Deer):

    • Chital, with their distinctive spotted coat, are abundant in Ranthambore.
  6. Nilgai (Blue Bull):

    • Nilgai, the largest antelope species in Asia, can be found in the open grasslands.
  7. Indian Gazelle (Chinkara):

  8. Crocodiles:

    • Ranthambore is home to mugger crocodiles, and they can be seen near water bodies.

  10. Reptiles:

    • Ranthambore is inhabited by various reptiles, including monitor lizards, snakes and tortoises.
  11. Indian Flying Fox:

    • Large colonies of Indian flying foxes, a species of fruit bat, can be seen in certain areas.

What is Lorem Ipsum? Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry's standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book.
