Wildlense Eco Foundation - Connecting Tribes to Conventional Lives
Panna, a district in Madhya Pradesh is a prime tiger-land with mesmerizing waterfalls, land of legends, cultural richness, natural & archaeological splendor. Panna Tiger Reserve is one of the most popular tourist attractions of Madhya Pradesh which was established in the year 1981 with the aim of conservation of tigers.
Tribes of Panna
The buffer zone around the Panna Tiger Reserve belongs to tribal communities which are an integral part of the region’s cultural & social fabric. These tribal communities are known for their distinct cultural practices, including traditional art, music, dance, and folklore. They have a deep connection with nature and rely on natural resources for their livelihoods.
Wildlense Eco Foundation - A supporting hand
They have gone through several challenges; facing threats from deforestation, land degradation, loss of biodiversity etc. but from past few years, Wildlense Eco Foundation is working tirelessly for the upliftment of these tribes. Our organization is actively contributing in the implementation of an initiative taken by the Government of India & working towards the empowerment and sustainable development of these tribal communities. We are providing training on various aspects of the scheme, including sustainable collection practices, value addition, packaging, and marketing of forest produce.
As Gooseberry is one of the major crops in Panna, products made from it, are in high demand. Honey is another produce of Panna forest area. Tribal communities participate actively in the making & processing of these products. Later on, these products are being packed and distributed by Wildlense Eco Foundation. You can order these products on wildlense.com.
Making them self-dependent on sales & marketing front by connecting tribal communities with buyers who are interested in purchasing the forest produce. We are helping them to establish market linkages and negotiating fair prices for their products.
Proper infrastructure is the major area to focus on for any business. Wildlense Eco Foundation is setting up collection centers, processing units and storage facilities to ensure that the products are of high quality and meet market demand.
Our efforts are focused on creating sustainable livelihood opportunities for tribal communities and promoting their overall well-being. We believe that the development of these communities is essential for the protection and conservation of natural resources and biodiversity in Panna. By supporting this initiative, we are working towards a more equitable and sustainable future for all.
