by Nimisha Tewari 23 Oct 2023

Kanha National Park, located in the central Indian state of Madhya Pradesh, is one of the most renowned tiger reserves and wildlife sanctuaries in the country. It offers a range of thrilling jungle safaris that allow visitors to immerse themselves in the park's extraordinary natural beauty and wildlife. Here's an overview of the exciting jungle safaris you can experience in Kanha:

  1. Jeep Safaris:

    • Jeep safaris are one of the most popular ways to explore Kanha. Visitors are accompanied by knowledgeable guides and naturalists who help spot wildlife and provide insights into the park's ecology. Jeeps can access deeper areas of the park, increasing your chances of tiger sightings.
  2. Canoeing Safari:

    • Kanha has the Banjaar River flowing through its lush forests. Canoeing safaris on this river offer a unique perspective of the park's aquatic life and you may encounter animals like gaur, langurs and tigers coming to the water's edge to drink.
  3. Nature Walks:

    • Guided nature walks are an excellent way to explore the park's flora and fauna up close. You can learn about various plant species, insects, birds and maybe spot some smaller wildlife during these walks.
  4. Bird Watching:

    • Kanha National Park is a paradise for bird watchers. The park is home to an incredible variety of avian species, including eagles, vultures, owls and many others. Bird watching safaris with expert guides can be an ornithologist's delight.
  5. Night Safaris:

    • For an entirely different experience, night safaris are available in some areas of the park. You can encounter nocturnal animals like leopards, hyenas and other creatures that come alive after dark.
  6. Photography Safaris:

    • Kanha's stunning landscapes and diverse wildlife make it a photographer's dream. Photography safaris are conducted for those looking to capture the park's beauty through their lenses.
  7. Self-Drive Safaris:

    • Some zones in Kanha allow self-drive safaris. However, it's important to follow park rules and safety guidelines while exploring the reserve in your own vehicle.

While on these safaris, you can expect thrilling encounters with a variety of wildlife, including the park's iconic species like tigers, leopards, sloth bears and barasingha deer. Make sure to follow ethical wildlife viewing practices to ensure the safety of both the animals and the environment. Each safari in Kanha National Park offers a unique opportunity to connect with nature and experience the wild in its truest form.

What is Lorem Ipsum? Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry's standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum. Why do we use it? It is a long established fact that a reader will be distracted by the readable content of a page when looking at its layout. The point of using Lorem Ipsum is that it has a more-or-less normal distribution of letters, as opposed to using 'Content here, content here', making it look like readable English. Many desktop publishing packages and web page editors now use Lorem Ipsum as their default model text, and a search for 'lorem ipsum' will uncover many web sites still in their infancy. Various versions have evolved over the years, sometimes by accident, sometimes on purpose (injected humour and the like).
