There are many tourist places in Uttar Pradesh for a perfect outing to escape from the daily routine, and we are listing down the best three of them:

Dudhwa National Park

Dudhwa Tiger Reserve is located in the sub-Himalayan region (also known as the Terai region) of Uttar Pradesh, along the Indo-Nepal border in the Lakhimpur-Kheri District.

Counted amongst the most endangered ecosystems on the planet, Dudhwa National Park was established in 1958 as a wildlife sanctuary and was declared as a tiger reserve. It forms a major part of the tiger reserve along with the Kishanpur Wildlife Sanctuary.

Dudhwa National Park is home to a wide variety of fascinating wildlife, including leopard cat, fishing cat, ratel, civet, jackal, varieties of deer and antelopes, elephants and birds. It also houses the hispid hare. Other major attractions in the park are the short-nosed crocodiles as well as pythons and monitor lizards that can be easily found and clicked on the banks of the river.

‘Birding at Dudhwa National Park is a delight, as it houses about 400 of resident and migratory birds. The swamps and lakes within the park attract a variety of waterfowls and the best spot for that is the Banke Tal where you can see egrets, geese, cormorants, heron, several species of duck, and teal. If you spend some more time here, you might see a variety of storks, and colorful birds such as woodpeckers, barbets, minivets, bulbuls, and kingfishers too.

The best time to visit Dudhwa is from November to March.

Kishanpur Wildlife Sanctuary

The Kishanpur Wildlife Sanctuary was founded in 1972 and now forms a part of the Dudhwa Tiger Reserve near Mailani in Uttar Pradesh.

It houses about 1800 Barasinghaalong with majestic herds that are especially seen in the grassy wetlands of the Sathania and Kakraha blocks. Prime tourist attractions like the tiger, chital, hog deer, wild boars, otters, and many more animals along with a huge number of resident and migratory birds like falcons, drongos, owls, egrets, and peacocks can be spotted in the sanctuary.

Along with this, travelers also get a chance to spot numerous kinds of deer. Sambar is the largest Indian deer that can be seen during the mating season. Spotted deer or Chital is one of the most beautiful deer species found in India. The Hog-deer is a unique species which gets its name from its hog-like appearance and behavior, along with its habit of keeping his head down while running. The barking deer, also known as the Muntjac, is identified by its glossy chestnut coat and it comes out in the open fields to graze. It usually prefers to keep to the jungle boundaries and doesn’t go further.

Kishanpur Wildlife Sanctuary is spread across 203 square kilometers and covered with deciduous trees like sal, teak, and jamun. Talking about the flora and fauna, it has open meadows and these are dotted with perennial streams which also attract several birds and animals, making it a perfect weekend destination.

Pilibhit Tiger Reserve

Pilibhit Tiger Reserve is located in Pilibhit district, also known as ‘BasuriNagri- the land of flutes’ and lies along the Indo-Nepal border. This tiger reserve is known to be one of the finest examples of exceedingly diverse and productive ecosystems in the Terai region.

The reserve is home to a myriad of wild animals including large carnivores. The unusually calm forest at times echoes with the alarm call of a cheetal (Spotted deer) or langur. The presence of the majestic animal tiger cherishes everyone. Many other animals like the leopard, sloth bear, wild boar, swamp deer, spotted deer, hog deer, barking deer, sambar, porcupine, civets, python, monitor lizard, etc. play an equally important role in the ecology of the Pilibhit Tiger Reserve. Some critically endangered species such as hispid hare, otter, pangolin, Bengal florican, and Indian vulture can also be seen and clicked here.

The birdlife is vibrant and diverse and over 326 species can be seen around. These species include red jungle fowl, hornbill, peafowl, fish eagle, serpent eagle emerald dove, black neck stork, woolly neck stork, drongo, nightjar, green pigeon, spotted owl, jungle babbler, black francolin, fish owl, cormorant, snack bird, etc.

What is Lorem Ipsum? Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry's standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum. Why do we use it? It is a long established fact that a reader will be distracted by the readable content of a page when looking at its layout. The point of using Lorem Ipsum is that it has a more-or-less normal distribution of letters, as opposed to using 'Content here, content here', making it look like readable English. Many desktop publishing packages and web page editors now use Lorem Ipsum as their default model text, and a search for 'lorem ipsum' will uncover many web sites still in their infancy. Various versions have evolved over the years, sometimes by accident, sometimes on purpose (injected humour and the like).
